Mecklenburg Park and Recreation received a National Recreation and Park Association Community Build Grant to add amenities to the Lincoln Heights Park in the Historic West End corridor of Charlotte, NC. Landworks Design Group was privileged to be a member of the design team for the project.

Landworks Design Group was glad to be a part of this significant renovation of an existing neighborhood park. The park renovation project was the showcase for the 2014 National Recreation and Park Association conference in Charlotte, held in October 2014.

The time frame from consultant selection to completion of the project was 10 months (NRPA conference schedule dictated opening date).

Scheduling of the project required close coordination with out-of-town play equipment manufacturers and installers who were donating equipment.   Landworks worked closely with MCPR staff and the Contractor to deliver the park ahead of schedule.

Coordination of construction was critical as the park was showcased during the National Recreation and Parks Association Conference.

Additionally, Landworks coordinated installation of donated park equipment and shelters as a part of the NRPA Showcase.
